Flash Those Bright White Teeth
- Posted on: Aug 30 2015
Everyone wants to have bright white teeth, but things like coffee, tea, dark sodas, red wine, tobacco, and even prescription medicine can stain your teeth, leaving them yellow and dingy. Teeth whitening from Dr. Miller can fix that.
At home versus in office
You hear lots of hype about in-office teeth whitening procedures. We’re not fans. Why? These treatments use extremely harsh hydrogen peroxide solutions that can lead to tooth sensitivity. Plus, the prices are higher than at-home treatments. And the end results aren’t any more effective.
Dr. Miller prefers at-home whitening because it is the most comfortable and affordable. We take impressions of your teeth and use them to create a custom fit tray that maximizes the efficacy of the bleaching gel. These trays make the best contact between the tooth surfaces and the gel. Patients need to wear the tray for just 20 minutes a day for about a week to get a whiter, brighter smile.
You may have heard other whitening claims that they will whiten your teeth by up to nine shades, but don’t believe them. Two to three shades is a significant difference. Plus, your various teeth are different — the canines and molars are usually darker, with your front teeth usually being the whitest.
Your whitening can last up to three years. But this varies depending on the person. If you drinks lots of coffee and red wine, your stains will come back. That’s why it’s smart to touch up your whitening once or twice a year. You simply get more gel from us and use the tray you already have.
Don’t put up with dingy, stained teeth. Whiten them with Dr. Miller. Call us at 503-640-9310 to schedule your appointment.
